Videohippos

w. Lizz King & Blue Leader

In short, Videohippos is a two-person band from Baltimore’s Wham City community and performs music along with projected video-art. Videohippos have toured in both US and Canada with friends Dan Deacon, OCDJ, Ecstatic Sunshine, DDMMYYYY, Death Set, +more. Both VH and Tick Tick are psyched that they are stopping in Burlington on their way from Brooklyn up to Montreal.

Please come out and add to the party!

Videohippos

Videohippos!!!!!!!!

As their name suggests VIDEOHIPPOS perform live with both audio and video. Backed by a giant screen while performing, VIDEOHIPPOS project personal and pop culture video collages in synch with the music. Though captivating its hard to distract from the stick skills of drummer Kevin O’meara (drums, vocals, keys) and pop weavings of guitarist Jim Triplett (guitar, vocals, keys). Pummeling his 4-piece kit with precision and power, O’meara draws drooling mouths agape, as well as creating the centerpiece for the VIDEOHIPPOS ballads. With beats in place Triplett works in waves of guitar melodies either via 6-string electric or a small toy guitar. Sampled beats and tones fit snuggly between the two while both ‘Hippos share vocal duties.

w. Lizz King & ( Check out Booty queen!!)

She usually sings about boys, culture, and theology.

Her most recent ambitions are in agriculture, pop booty tunes, monogamy, and preparing for any and all possible beautiful/catastrophic natural or unnatural shifts in our collective conscious.

Blue Leader is Do The Match Comics writer/ “drawer” Robby Rackleff

Something to look forward to…..Friday April 25th!

Filed under: Uncategorized — nmavodones @ 3:33 am

Hello All.

Scout Niblett.

Featured below.

WIll be gracing the Burlington folk with a last minute booked performance between her Montreal show and her Bard performance.

This perfectly placed happening will take place on Friday April 25th in downtown Burlington.

To the best of my knowledge, though lineup is certainly subject to change, the local talent helping round out this night will be Cccome?, Jenny Montana w. Family(?) and Friends(?), and Fantastic Dungeon.

more information will be posted tomorrow, but certainly cancel any prior engagements and get ready to make an evening of it.

Pretend You’re Happy

Filed under: Pretend Your Happy, Radio Bean — nmavodones @ 4:36 am

A good fellow named Alex Steed, who started this site and Angioplasty back in
PORTLAND, MAINE sent me a link for this band today. They are out of VT and I’m feeling their stuff today.
They are going to be at Radio Bean on  April 19th. Probably going to try to get work off to check it out.
For some reason, the singer reminds me a bit of Dean Wells of The Capstan Shafts at times (maybe only once, and i can’t seem to shake the memory). Other times, not so much or not at all. But during those times they remind me of a handful of other things I can’t place but really enjoy. Gonna keep listening to their songs for a bit.

I suggest yall do the same and let me know what you think.
Thanks

Take note: Pretend You’re Happy, as a CD, has violin players. As a live act, there are none. This has to be remedied.
