Parmaga (pronounced like parmesan) is soundscape laden indie rock. Soft lyrics both whisper and soar, always with an ambient undercurrent, laying soft base for driving beats and biting guitar. Ghost Pops is the first release from Burlington, Vermont based Parmaga. The four song suite is the most current of the bands catalogue, written by guitarist/vocalist Bryan Parmelee. The band formed in 2008 as MAGA, a two piece utilizing synths and drum machines along with keys, guitar and drum set to create a sound with rhythmic drive and sonic depth. Ghost Pops is a marriage of Parmaga’s earlier sonic depth and the later drums/guitar compliment.
As an added bonus here’s their unreleased track ‘Anything At All’ to hold you over til Friday arrives.
