LCD Soundsystem + Sleigh Bells – This is Happening – 9.27.10

Tonight LCD Soundsystem and Sleigh Bells will be playing at Burlington’s Memorial Auditorium. Not Higher Ground for those confused by the fact that Higher Ground IS in fact presenting it. Tickets should still be available if folks haven’t already purchased them. From the little birds driving around town I hear that Sleigh Bells should hit about 8pm with LCD coming on as close to 9:10 as possible. Maybe Ill see you there.

PS – Our site looks like shit but we are hopefully fixing that.

LCD SOUNDSYSTEM

LCD SOUNDSYSTEM has gradually gained both critical and public acclaim, beginning with their bare-bones roots at DFA Records and culminating this summer with a headlining spot at the perennial Camp Bisco. Paragon of cool, indie-blog darling, James Murphy’s live band features members of Hot Chip and !!!, a coalescence of electronica/dance-punk that will have the floor bouncing.

SLEIGH BELLS

Sleigh Bells are just a duo but their tracks ram together many sonic worlds. Flipping from hip-hop hook sass to pop power to sunshined coquettish coos, Sleigh Bells’ electronic beats thud with gut-rattling low end, distorted siren squalls, and heavily crunched power chords. With buzzing guitars, massive, head-nodding beats, and sweet-as-sugar vocals on top, a Sleigh Bells song simply explodes from the speakers, sounding like nothing you’ve heard before.

Nick, I know you’ve repeatedly said that you had nothing to do with this show, but, whatever, I have no idea who else to thank. Thank you. That show was incredible.

It was probably one of the best shows I have ever seen.
