Going to go to this. Have to.
Ya always hear about shows and think ‘hell yeah, I’m going to that, of course, sounds great.’ Or ‘I’m going to take off work and hit it up. Easy.’
I thought I’d make it to all the shows I wanted to see once April rolled around as the work load looked slim and I don’t do shit. But, things picked up and then me not doing shit = going to Cali for a few days (and not doing shit in LA).
Skipped out for just a few days but will end up missing some favorites/ new jamz such as:
The CUSH X 2, CAVE BEES, The HOLD STEADY, RYAN POWER, LENDWAY, GROWING, TOBY ARONSON, EARN, NYIKO BEGUIN, CRINKLES gig #1 of 2, STATE CHAMPION, INFINITE BODY, ROUGH FRANCIS, PRINCE RAMA, JOSEPHINE FOSTER, ANAIS MITCHELL, MICHAEL CHORNEY, RACHEL MASON to name a few.
That’s a month worth of great shows in 5 nights. There’s a show just about every god damn day/ if not 2 . Anyways. I’m back for this. You should go.

Coasting are a gal gal duo of guitar and drums out of Brooklyn.
Coasting have accidentally boogie-boarded their way into a not-so-chill wave of ecstatic local surf-punk, adding their own distorto-crunchy twist. Less bubblegum than Beachniks, more lo-fi than Real Estate, and more jaded than Best Coast, the two gals in Coasting are more mature, more unhinged and more demented.
Pretty new on the scene but have played some bad ass gigs with the likes of Gary War, Men and Women, Dum Dum Girls, Happy Birthday, Frankie + The Outs, Cloud Nothings and had the pleasure of making it to/playing the inaugural Todd P curated MtyMx Fest in Mexico this past March.
PLUS ! they are playing the May 6th CHRIS KNOX Benefit in NYC with an all star line up of Yo La Tengo, Jeff Mangum, Kyp Malone, Sharon Van Etten, The Clean, Portastatic and others.
