Really happy to see these guys are coming back to Burlington.
Thoroughly enjoyed their set at the Monkey House w. Kevin Barker and Paper Castles (s0lo) back in July.
Based off of that intitial show and their recent signing to to the label SUB POP, I was about 100 times more excited to see them 2 weeks back with Ryan Power and Little Women but they had to cancel due to a nasty case of sick sick.
This time back through they will be opening for Devendra Banhart in the large room at HG. Which if ya take a peek makes some sense given HB members past work with Feathers which released work on the Cabic/ Banhart label.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY
Happy Birthday is Kyle Thomas (aka King Tuff), Chris Weisman, and Ruth Garbus. They formed in November 2008 to play one show at the punk-space “Tinderbox”(RIP), in their hometown Brattleboro, Vermont.
Kyle needed a band to play his new pop songs because he was too scared to play by himself. They enjoyed playing with eachother so much that they decided to keep doing it. They have now played a total of 5 shows*.
Kyle sings and plays lead guitar. The songs are mostly his, but the band arranges and finishes them together. He is also a painter and drawer and loves top 40, shoes, texting, comic books, etc.
Ruth Garbus plays drums and sings. She also makes her own music and art.
Chris Weisman plays “inverted-tuning” guitar, bass, and sings. He makes 4-track songs, enjoys reading and writing, and is a guitar teacher.
– SUB POP
* I think the tally of 5 gigs is up to a wee bit more now.

Even though the album ( I hear recorded by Ryan Power ) won’t be out it looks til March of 10’/ & there being no music on their site, you can get a taste of their sound with the video below.
Also included is a nice song by Chris Weisman who filled in for Happy B Day down at the 5th.
