Happy to piece this one together last minute. Hopefully a few folks check it since it’s some relatively up and coming/ out of staters.
Valleys are Montreal based and recently played Pop Montreal on the same bill as Ryan Power (band) at Phonopolis. Brenda are friends from back in Portland w. members formerly of the amazing CULT MAZE crew. The RattleSnakes are buddies with B and apparently a fucking blast.

VALLEYS
“Vocals reminiscent of A Silver Mount Zion, on the fly instrument switching, a blend of acoustic guitars, casio keyboards, flugalhorn, samples & looping, noise, electric guitars drumming and wonderful harmonies. All good things coming from this local 4 peice.” – [Indyish]

Valleys have just released Sometimes Water Kills People, which falls somewhere between early ’70s Island Records folk, and the Saddle Creek scene. Think hushed vocals, layer upon layer of acoustic guitar, with some droney fuzz in the background. Really nice stuff. – via Brooklyn Vegan

BRENDA
Came through and played 2 rad gigs last year at the Half and The Monk.
From the ashes of Cult Maze comes Brenda! This indie rock trio is cut from the classic mold, tipping its hat with equal reverence to Pavement and the Beach Boys, Elvis and the Walkmen.

THE RATTLESNAKES
“a thrilling but erratic live act”
“one of Portland’s most unpredictable bands.

maybe they’ll eff some shit up.
looking forward to it all though.
The Monkey House – 9pm or so.
