These folks are playing tonight, Tuesday August 11th, 7pm at the newly spacious Radio Bean. Kind of a last minute addition after they played two nights in Montreal and are heading to Brooklyn tomorrow.
James Wallace & The Naked Light
Been listening to their stuff the last few days and its certainly pulled me in. Kinda reminds me a tad of John Darnielle .. maybe not?
The Naked Light is a four piece Storytelling-folk, Psychedelic rock type band led by James Wallace and Kai Welch with harmonies, electric guitars, and trumpet. The Naked Light has performed their songs in Iceland, England, Australia, China, and recently with the full band in Canada in conclusion of their 2008 Summer tour. The group has shared the stage with artists such as Bobby Bare Jr., The Dresden Dolls, The Slackers, and plenty of other nice folks. In addition to planning a Fall U.S. tour, they are currently promoting their newest 9 song release: I SMILE ALL DAY I SMILE ALL NIGHT, co-engineered/mastered at The Blue Room in Nashville, TN by Charles Yingling (Willie Nelson).
