Troubadorable Tour 2009 – Tonight 4.22 !

About ten years ago when  I was attending UVM,  I would try to organize shows for my musician friends back in Maine.

One guy that consistently came thru was my buddy CHRISTIAN. He’d play the Bean back in 2000/ 2001. Id make bad posters, tell my friends that worked in the computer lab with me to come.

All that fun stuff.

Drinking Sambucca/ eating chapstick to make people laugh/ throwing up.

On a few occassions he was accompanied by then drummer/ high schooler DAVE END. It’s been a good # of years since I have talked to DAVE but had noticed over the years he set up shop in Brooklyn and played shows all over the country as a solo artist.  Emails went back and forth again and again.

So,  a good 6 or 7 years later, I’m happy to have him back in Burlington again.

DAVE END

Dave End –  This acoustic D.I.Y. troubadour writes Queer Cupcake Loving Honesty Pop and focuses on the details that rhyme.  Listening to Dave End‘s music is like giving your younger self a hug. It makes you feel like you’re okay, not despite your struggles but because of them. Tackling subject matters like bullying, homophobia, body image and heartbreak, Dave End could easily fall into the slippery traps of self-pity and earnestness, but he manages to keep his songs aloft with humor, bounce, and jamboree-style glee.

In the past 2 years, Dave End has released 2 albums, played over 200 shows, toured over 18,000 miles (4,000 miles of this in a veggie diesel car), performed in a musical, joined a dance troupe, and has recently designed costumes for Kimya Dawson Performances.

JORDAN O’ JORDAN

Armed with either banjo, autoharp, piano or acoustic guitar, Jordan makes a mockery of most singer/songwriter saps by crafting irresistible vaudeville entertainment out of lifes mundane grind and his own whimsical imagination. Everyone from Woody Guthrie and Tiny Tim to Devendra Banhart and Raffi share space in Jordans mind
