MICKEY WESTERN
First it was a few months back and stumbling across a super interesting article regarding the HONEYSPACE gallery in Chelsea that MW had a show at. I managed to even catch a glimpse of it on their closing night when I was visiting my sister in the city.
Today I stumble across some really great photos courtesy of BROOKLYN VEGANS coverage of
LADY CIRCUS & THE MICKEY WESTERN BAND’S ‘THE RUSTED GUN SALOON’.
It happens to coincide with the fact that MICKEY WESTERN will be playing a midnight set tonight at RADIO BEAN.
It peaked my interest just a wee bit more for sure.

For those out and about early certainly stop in and catch the music of
WATCHER – 11 pm
To some, Watcher’s music reflects the struggles of compromise, truth, and life. But there is something that goes under the radar, as it should, that may be most significant about this band: Watcher captures an essence of life that is over looked, a driving force that hums just above the grinding of the daily routine, a sanity that floats strongly above the smoke.
Not to cop out and simply compare their sound to ( big name )others, but, it reminds me a bit of MURDER BY DEATH/ DEVOTCHKA as well as hints of some ARCADE FIRE with the guy/ girl back and forth vocals/ instrumentation.
Check it. Should be fun.
