Seems as though there are a few noteworthy musical events sprouting up this coming Friday, January 23rd to be exact. There is the epic
1,2,3 event
ROUGH FRANCIS, BLOWTORCH and THE VACANT LOTS.
Should be a bad ass evening of running about the Basement and trying hard not to hit your head on the ceilings. Lots and lots of jumping up and down is foreseen. Kinda like the MONOTONIX gig but with no NOISE VIOLATION.
I also hear that there is a rocker over at PARIMA with BUZZ JAR and FEVERBREAKERS. Just caught a poster up for that gig on the walk into work today. Sneakers still wet 7 hours later. yay.
I’ll most likely be working down at the 5th Element but on top of these two events there’s a rad lil’ gig at Radio Bean.
So, out of somewhere in the area of Washington, D. C., Burlington welcomes
HUME
HUME is the musical project of one BRITTON POWELL.
BRIT has recently written a piece titled “HUMANIORA” for upright Bass and 2 Reeds that he will be performing at the Bean. The piece should run about 25 or so minutes, and with Powell’s slot being a full hour you will most likely get to hear some of his his other experimental meanderings. An interesting piece about BRIT is that he lives/ books at an amazing home/ venue in DC called THE LIGHTHOUSE which has many a nights of experimental and improvised music.

A few notable folks that have played there and also come thru Burlington as of late are FUTURE ISLANDS, MIKE KHOURY, SUN CIRCLE, PAUL METZGER, MIKE TAMBURO, LIZZ KING & ADVENTURE.
