There have certainly been plenty of shows to kick off this fine fall like time. The ART HOP was full of all out great performances. Heard some super great things happened at the GREEN DOOR STUDIO with MICHAEL JACKSON AND THE BEATLES ( who followed that up with a midnight session at the BEAN) as well as MY DEAREST DARLING & THE VACANT LOTS.
I unfortunately missed all three of them due to heavy lifting, manning the oven as line man #4 and YO YO battles.
So.
This show will be the first of the season that I’m excited about and will hopefully actually see. This will also mark the first of many TICK TICK events upcoming.
This coming Wednesday PONTIAK will grace Burlington with another fine performance. They rolled thru a few months back with the amazing WYE OAK. This time they’ll be touring with label mates ARBOURETUM to help promote their new split LP titled KALE. Going to be an all out rocker.
Kale is a special LP-only split release by Arbouretum and their Baltimore friends Pontiak, Thrill Jockey’s new signees making their label debut. The split features new songs from each band as well as a handful of John Cale covers, with Arbouretum offering their rendition of “Buffalo Ballet,” and Pontiak delivering a potent “The Endless Plain of Fortune” and a great new interpretation of “Mr. Wilson”. The album was recorded at Pontiak’s home studio in Warrenton, VA. – Thrill Jockey Records
If all goes well they’ll be joined by Burlington’s own BUZZ JAR.
Yet to officially get confirmed though.
